About the Journal

Focus and scope

The Dundee Student Law Review (ISSN: 2979-8795) is a student led journal that aims to foster critical engagement with law, legal issues, and other related topics. Having recently celebrated it’s tenth anniversary, the Review has covered many topics with some issues being special editions.

The journal has been a platform to promote the works of existing University of Dundee law students and alumni. Recent publications have seen an increase in participation from non-alumnus submissions, PhDs, as well as practitioners. The DSLR aims to provide students and the wider community an opportunity to showcase their work and legal skills byway of publication. With such a competitive employment market, the DSLR hopes that students will engage with the Review to bridge the gap between academia and the legal profession.

Topics and themes for each issue are decided on an ad hoc basis and with the internal team where possible. The Review always strives to grow and improve both readership and outreach.

Publication frequency

DSLR publishes one issue per academic year.

Open Access policy

The DSLR supports Open Access to scholarly work and applies Creative Commons Attribution [CC-BY] Licence to ensure access and free use for the widest possible audience.

Authors are not charged any fees to submit, process, or publish their work in this journal, including Article Processing Charges (APCs).

Journal ownership

DSLR is owned and governed by the journal editors and their academic advisors. Copyright to papers published within the journal issues are owned by their respective authors under Creative Commons licences. The journal is published by the University of Dundee with support from Library Open Research and Publishing Services.
