TCELT

2026-09-08

The Research Centre for Transformative Change: Educational & Life Transitions (TCELT) is hosted at the University of Dundee. The TCELT Research Centre's vision is to impact international research, policy, and practice on educational and life transitions and their implications for well-being through an international network of researchers, professionals, and communities.

Typically, TCELT runs three types of events monthly: Research Seminars, Transitions Community Compass and a Writers' Retreat. However, in session 2026-2027, we will not run Transitions Community Compass events. You can find information on past events here.

Writers’ retreats are facilitated by Dr Beth Hannah, Education and Society, Faculty of Arts and Social Sciences, and Dr Marianne Cranwell, Health Sciences, Faculty of Health. They are both Directors of TCELT. Although these events target participants from the transitions community, they are not limited to that group, and we welcome those engaged in writing in other areas. We hold regular facilitated meetings, typically the last Friday of each month from 9.30 am-4.30 pm (with some exceptions). Please contact Dr Beth Hannah at e.hannah@dundee.ac.uk if you are interested in the writers' retreats.

Research seminars are typically held over lunchtimes on the first Wednesday of each month. Calum MacGillivray, a PhD student in Education and Society, Faculty of Arts and Social Sciences, facilitates them. Please contact Calum MacGillivray at c.y.macgillivray@dundee.ac.uk. You will receive a flyer in advance with the speaker's details, focus of the talk and a link to the session. Please contact Dr Beth Hannah at e.hannah@dundee.ac.uk if you are interested in the research seminars.
